If you want to mirror the PS2 version's bindings (considering you use a PS4 controller), go to GameFAQs or any similar site, as walkthroughs usually contain a summary of the controls. Have fun playing the amazing Obscure - The Aftermath game for PlayStation Portable. But that's if your controls are configured to mirror the default controller bindings. I think you need to click an analog stick (the right one, if I remember the PS2 version's controls correctly) to buff the flashlight. there are much better games to spend your time on. EDIT: You should go to the settings menu next time you launch the game, and make sure that your bindings are in order. This game seems like fun but the controls are a real mess, there's also no Escape button to go to the main menu. Please don't make the same mistake I did, give this lazy cashgrab a hard pass and just play the first Obscure again. Overall, Obscure 2 is a broken, boring, frustrating, and downright annoying chore of a game that I regret spending 9 hours of my life on. but Stan's voice actor slips up and says its Herbert, its like the devs never played the first game. Also somehow Lenny survived being BURNED TO ASHES BY THE FREAKING SUN in the last game and is taken care of by his leatherface-like child. something about some secret science fraternity that wants to use Herb and Lenny Friedman's monster plant for world domination or evolving the human race or something, also Kenny becomes a villain for some reason I don't know. The plot's completely incoherent as well. They also got rid of permadeath which means you its impossible to grant any of these stupid kids the sweet release of death and finish the game without them. Their D-list voice actors did a terrible job (especially the one for COREY) and their 3d models are so bad that they look like they are getting mutated from the Mortifilia as well. they make decisions completely out of character as well. a few characters from the previous game return, but their personalities are so changed they might as well be different people entirely.

gone are the charming slasher movie archetypes of the original obscure, in their place are a bunch of whiny brats that you almost want the monsters to tear into bloody chunks. Speaking of the characters, lets get to them shall we. The monsters (who are, I admit, still have pretty cool designs, basically the only high mark i can give this game) are basically no threat at all, your characters are like kryptonians with the amount of health they have and even the 800 P O U N D B E H E M O T H S go down from a few whacks with a hockey paddle while standing completely still. yeah yeah i know it's third person tank controls but even tank controls don't make you motion sick. the camera sensitivity is off the charts, simply doing minor mouse movements throws it off in wild directions, and the combat is painfully underdeveloped and boring. If you don't have this problem, good for you, but the game's still absolute trash due to these next reasons. I basically had to slog through this entire dumpster fire of a game just to get stuck on the stupid tree and had to look up the conclusion on youtube. In my version at least, the Tree Lenny boss is unbeatable due to a glitch which makes it impossible to cut it's roots with the chainsaw, which is required for you to defeat it. with that in mind, I was hoping for the second game to show some improvement or at least deliver more of the same.ДЇirst off, lets get the biggest problem out of the way first. I was sad that it never got too big of a cult following. it was a pretty good game that was rather unappreciated. It's gameplay was simple but fun, the story was pretty cool, the monsters were scary. The first was sullied by some poorly thought-out PC controls and awful camera angles, but the second has hammered things into shape and is knocking out what. Replace the original OBSCURE2.EXE file with the one from the File Archive. I loved the first obscure, it was a perfect blend of a cheesy B-movie narrative, gruesome body horror, and amusing teenage slasher movie stereotype characters set in a shady high school of all places.
